Testwood Lakes After School Club

Thursday 19th April

From Thursday 19th April, staff at Testwood Lakes Nature Reserve, Totton will run a weekly after school club for children aged 5-11 and their grown-ups.

Families can experience nature throughout the seasons with the Hampshire IOW Wildlife Trust. Learn about wildlife, gain practical skills and have a chance to play in the great outdoors. Activities will include: den building, fire lighting, campfire cooking, bird watching, bug hunting, map reading, pond dipping, woodcraft and more.

Linda Seekings, who will be running the club says “I run weekly Forest School sessions for under 5’s at Testwood Lakes. When the children left to start school there wasn’t anything similar that they could do each week with their parents – until now! That’s why we set up this club. Children really enjoy visiting the same area of woodland each week, continually developing their skills, ideas and games. This club with give them the opportunity to do just that.”

The club will run from 3.30pm (for a 3.45pm start) till 5.15pm every Thursday. Booking is essential – phone 02380 667929 or email testwoodlakes@hiwwt.org.uk Each session costs £6.50 per child.
